Research Description

I specialize in mission design for deep space exploration, particularly in trajectory design. We design each space exploration mission in order to satisfy not only the respective requirements of these missions, but also many other constraints and conditions, such as launch vehicle capability, launch schedules for astronomical, seasonal, and anthropological (e.g., fisherman agreements) windows, fuel and mass budgets including adequate margins, instrument lifespan, total mission duration, telecom bandwidth, back-up windows, cost, and human resources. All of this exemplifies why mission design is a perfect example of system engineering.
